“At a time in my life when I have more questions than answers, having a session with co-active coach Rhett Redeling was much needed. Through his warm manner and intuitive and insightful questioning, he helped me uproot some surprising nuggets of truths about my work and life ‘stuckness.’ Our dialogue was not only incredibly helpful, it was fun to boot! I highly recommend Rhett and his co-active method for anyone who needs to do this type of inner work.”

Feeling personally and professionally stuck in September 2024, I questioned my career worth and purpose, which affected my personal life. I had met Rhett Redelings casually a few years prior, engaging in brief conversations from time to time.
In September or October 2024, we reconnected. Rhett mentioned his career transition to professional coaching, which resonated with me. I knew I needed a change but lacked clarity until our conversation.
Several weeks later, I began coaching sessions with Rhett. His positive, thoughtful, candid, and humorous style facilitated the process. Through thought-provoking questions, he guided me in navigating my "rut." His guidance and suggested exercises provided new perspectives on myself and my situation. Consequently, I gained a renewed outlook, improved coping mechanisms for challenges, and a restored sense of self-worth.”

I had the pleasure of working with Rhett Redelings during my time at the City of Mill Valley, when he was at MarinIT. From the start, I was impressed by his collaborative spirit, thoughtful problem-solving, and his ability to adapt to shifting needs while keeping the needs of our staff and the organization at the center of the conversation.
Over time, I’ve also gotten to know Rhett as a friend—and it’s no surprise to me that he has chosen the path of becoming a professional coach. Rhett listens deeply, asks insightful questions, and brings both compassion and intellect to every interaction. He has a rare gift for understanding people and encouraging growth, and he does it with humility, curiosity, and a great sense of humor.
If you’re looking for someone who is self-aware, emotionally intelligent, and genuinely invested in helping others move forward, Rhett is someone I wholeheartedly recommend.- Linn Walsh, Deputy County Executive, County of Marin

“I was fortunate to have the opportunity for a sample coaching session with Rhett via Zoom. I chose to address some relationship challenges I am currently experiencing. Without getting into my personal specifics he took me on a journey asking me to select which place I wanted to go then illuminated the stepping stones in front of me with curiosity and care. I felt safe and supported. He was both guiding and boundaried but also giving me control and ownership of the process along with opportunities to decline answering a question or to consider it from a different perspective. It brought me right up to the edge of my comfort zone (where growth occurs) and slowly and steadily we walked hand in hand through the unfamiliar terrain, not sure what I was going to see next but knowing he was by my side. There was real, felt micro growth in awareness within just one session! Emotions and connections came up that I had been long repressing along with a new understanding of how they are affecting my current relationship challenges. When I described painful sensations or experiences he effortlessly transported himself there and experienced them as well. He provided the proper balance of space and support throughout the session. I was shocked at how easy it felt to address something personally difficult and uncomfortable.
We ended the session by defining the actions I was comfortable taking based on my new level of awareness. Completing these were the first concrete steps towards bigger actions that have truly enhanced my relationship. I highly recommend working with him!”

“Rhett has an excellent sense of what questions to ask that help me think about a situation in a way I hadn’t previously been thinking. I tend to think of these as shifts in angle-of-approach. I find them super helpful for thinking of solutions or potential actions that previously hadn’t occurred to me.
Rhett makes sure to take moments here and there to point out when he sees a positive to celebrate that I maybe haven’t seen myself. He not only names the positive but also explains what I said that showed him that thing.
I have a fertile and vivid imagination, and I tend to think and process information using comparable imagery and metaphor. Rhett not only is excellent at following along when I express my thoughts in comparisons & metaphors, he is also equally able to communicate with me in the same way. This is refreshing, comforting, efficient, and extra helpful for me.
Rhett strikes a good balance between (a) allowing me to express & explore tangential thoughts, and (b) smoothly & respectfully pulling me back on point when such wandering begins to lose connection with the focus of our session.
I am astonished by – and tearfully overwhelmed with gratitude for – the amount of healing, rebuilding, fortifying, and growth I have been able to accomplish thus far.”

“{Coaching is} an invitation to go as deep as you are willing to go, to answer good questions to explore what is and what can be; non-judgmental close observation of things that get in the way; tools for self-discovery.
Being coached by Rhett: Wonderful! Personal, invited intimate/soulful sharing; very present; deep questions; ability to make me very gently uncomfortable (a good thing for opening me up); Rhett also models good behavior which helps me to stay focused.”

“Coaching means different things to everyone and I never really thought of it as a tool I'd want and use. Rhett does what he does best, bringing out the best in people and sparking their own thoughts and energy to fuel progress. He combines honest reflection with gentle humor and compassion to empower those he coaches to embrace their own strengths and examine their opportunities. Many thanks!”

“As a finance professional who has very little experience in the world of IT, Rhett was able to take the various, sometimes competing, thoughts and ideas of myself and my team and not only work them into a plan that is still paying dividends to my organization to this day, but also served to moderate discussion among the team so that all sides felt heard and could understand why one idea could be more advantageous than another.
Along with this, Rhett was also instrumental in bridging the gap between my organization and our IT contractors. Prior to Rhett, we had little faith that our IT contractors could handle larger scale projects due to the fact that we’d only ever used them for small scale support. As soon as Rhett stepped in, he clearly outlined goals and initiatives based on our needs and delivered on them. The budding relationship that Rhett fostered at the beginning developed into a strong bond between our two organizations that will be sure to flourish into the future.
Rhett has a can-do attitude, he’s personable, and is able to take any idea, no matter how big or small, and make it into a success. He is easy to talk to, a great listener, easy to get along with, and an asset to whoever he works with.”
— Trevor Atashkarian, Deputy Finance Director, City of Mill Valley
